Matt Peron is Deputy Chief Investment Officer and Portfolio Manager for Principal Equities. He is responsible for working closely with senior leaders to provide investment leadership, drive innovation, and advance portfolio outcomes. He is also Co-portfolio Manager for the firm’s international strategies. Matt joined Principal with over three decades of prior experience in asset management, most recently serving as Global Head of Solutions at Janus Henderson Investors and as a member of the strategic leadership team. While at Janus Henderson, he also served as lead portfolio manager on the firm’s research funds, for which he won a 2024 Lipper award.* Prior to that, Matt has held senior positions at several asset managers, including Global Head of Equities at Northern Trust Asset Management. Matt received his MBA from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business and a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Swarthmore College.
